When I was a child my mother sewed clothes for our Vogue Ginny Dolls one Christmas. Mom was not a sewer and didn't even have a sewing machine. She would wait until we went to bed at night and then sit and sew. A neighbor showed her how to lay out the patterns on the fabric and Mom took it from there. I've found that the outfits usually fit the slightly larger modern Ginny Dolls better than the vintage ones. I think the pattern companies made the outfits a little larger so they would be easier for children to dress and undress their dolls. This is one of the outfits Mom made.

I love this! Such a sweet memory. When I was a girl I LONGED for more dresses for my dolls. MY grandma was an amazing seamstress, but it never occured to me to ask her to make doll dresses for me. I mopre than made up for it now! Haha

Yes, you certainly have and you're very good at adjusting things to fit too. I can sew if I put my mind to it, but I've only made a few things over the years. However, I did see some really cute fabric at Joanne's a week or so ago and I actually cut out a dress for my Ginny doll. I hope I'll get it sewn together before I die of old age. :)
